The Chaos and the Canvas: My Creative Journey
Every piece of art starts with a single, messy thought. Sometimes it’s a flash of a character’s expression; other times, it’s just the way the light hits a building at sunset. As an artist, my goal isn't just to "draw something pretty," but to capture a specific mood that words often fail to describe.
People often ask, "How do you start?" For me, it begins with the 'Ugly Sketch' phase. Whether I'm working in Procreate or picking up a traditional pencil, those first few lines are always chaotic. But that’s where the magic is! You have to embrace the mess to find the masterpiece.
The Process: From Chaos to Clarity
The Sketch: Setting the foundation and checking proportions.
The Lineart: Adding the definition and "character" to the piece.
The Rendering: This is my favorite part—playing with light, shadows, and those cinematic textures that bring the drawing to life.
Finding My Style
Lately, I’ve been leaning into a mix of cinematic lighting and anime-inspired aesthetics. There’s something so powerful about high-contrast shadows and hyper-realistic details. It transforms a simple character study into a scene that feels like it’s pulled straight out of a movie.
Why I Create
Art is a language. It’s a way to share my world with you. Whether it’s a quick 10-minute doodle or a 10-hour digital painting, every stroke is a step toward becoming a better creator.
What about you? Do you prefer the clean lines of digital art or the raw feel of traditional sketches? Let’s chat in the comments!
